Limitations to know
- Values below absolute zero (−273.15 °C) are physically impossible; the converter still calculates them but they have no real meaning.
- Results are shown to up to 10 significant digits; extremely large or small values switch to scientific notation (e.g. 1.5e-12).
Privacy: Temperature Converter runs entirely in your web browser. Your Number data is not uploaded, stored or shared, and nothing about its contents is sent to analytics.
Frequently asked questions
What is the formula to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32. For example, 25 °C × 1.8 + 32 = 77 °F.
How do I convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?
°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9. For example, (100 − 32) × 5/9 = 37.78 °C.
Why is the reference table not a straight multiple?
Celsius and Fahrenheit have different zero points, so the conversion adds or subtracts an offset as well as multiplying.
