Limitations to know
- Layout is simplified: images, text boxes, headers/footers, footnotes, columns and custom fonts are not reproduced.
- Direct PDF download supports Latin-script text (Western European languages). For Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Hindi and other scripts use “Print / Save as PDF”, which uses your browser’s fonts.
- Old .doc files (Word 97–2003) are not supported – save them as .docx first.
Privacy: Word to PDF runs entirely in your web browser. Your DOCX data is not uploaded, stored or shared, and nothing about its contents is sent to analytics.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a Word document to PDF without Word installed?
Open this page, drop your .docx file and click “Download PDF”. Everything happens in your browser, so you do not need Microsoft Word or any software.
Why does my PDF look simpler than the Word file?
To stay free and private, conversion runs in your browser without Microsoft Word’s layout engine. It keeps the text structure and tables but not images or exact fonts. For a pixel-perfect copy, use Word’s own File → Save as PDF.
My document is in Arabic / Chinese / Russian – will it work?
Use the “Print / Save as PDF” button. It renders the document with your device fonts, which support every script, and saves through your browser’s print dialog.
